Education
Our ministry partner in Eluru, India (ICM) looks after 30 government-aided primary schools and 2 secondary schools. Rural village children are educated from Grade 1 (6 years old) onwards.
Many of these children face 2 main problems:
1. Inadequate diet
2. Poor educational facilities
Currently, the children only receive milk at lunch time through a government grant. Also, ICM schools were built over 70 years ago and do not receive any government aid to rebuild or renovate.
Our Appeal
1. We need to provide a Children's Home for the children collected from their villages. Sending these kids to school from remote places has become nearly impossible and many just stay at home. English education is the key to a better future for these children and their families.
BUDGET
$60 CAD/month per child
2. For the students of our 32 schools, we have to provide them with notebooks, pens, pencils, uniforms, and other articles apart from their teaching and learning materials. We have about 2400 students in total. Because we cannot assist all the students every year, we support about 2-3 different schools per year.
